Keying off very low frequency (VLF) communication signals, Quality Geophysics has successfully identified bedrock fractures in hard rock settings. Military centers across the globe use low frequencies to establish communication with submarines deep under water. These signals effect the subsurface in measurable ways. In hard bedrock environments, the communication signals are altered in the presence of bedrock fractures and faults. Identification of faults and fractures can be necessary for groundwater resource and environmental contamination investigations.
